How do I get a library card
Your CBU Student ID Card is also your library card. You’ll need it to borrow materials from the library. IT Services issues student ID cards. For more information visit: https://www.cbu.ca/it-services/mycbucard/z

Click the My Library Account link.

What are the library’s hours of operations?
During the Fall term, the library is open:
Monday: Thursday: 8:00am – 10:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday – Sunday: 11:00am – 9:00pm

Where can I borrow and return items?
You can borrow items at the Circulation Desk. To return them, visit the Circulation Desk or use the return slot in the hallway at the library entrance.

Is food permitted in the library?
Food is not allowed in the library. Drinks are okay if they’re in a covered container.
Does the library have textbooks?
Students must buy their own textbooks. You can get them from the CBU Bookstore.

Professors sometimes put copies of course textbooks in the library. These are called Reserve Items and can only be borrowed for a short time.

Yes, we have a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, as well as graphic novels.

What is Novanet?
Novanet is a consortium of academic libraries across Nova Scotia and one in New Brunswick. When searching in our Novanet Catalogue, you are searching items held at all of these library locations.

What do I do if the library does not have resources that I need?
If the library doesn’t have the resource you need, you can borrow from other libraries in Nova Scotia or across Canada by requesting an Interlibrary Loan. This service is free for CBU students.
