7 Safety Equipment
Various safety equipment (including personal protective equipment) may be required for your confined space entries. This may include:
- Head protection
- Eye/face protection
- Gloves and protective clothing
- Appropriate safety footwear
- Lock-out and other isolation equipment
- Ventilation equipment
- Gas monitor kit (inc. pump and calibration gas) for bump testing)
- Harnesses and lifelines
- Respiratory protection
- Extraction equipment
- Traffic control devices
Warning systems or barricades are needed at locations where a potential exists for persons or objects to fall into an opening or a confined space. This protection should not interfere with ventilation or egress from the confined space.
Each access and egress point shall be evaluated by a competent person to determine the most effective methods and equipment for enabling personnel to safely enter and exit the confined space. Means of safe access and egress shall be provided.
