2.30 Periodontal Dressing
Protocol: The student will prepare a periodontal dressing.

Extruded equal lengths of the two pastes on a paper pad |

Mixed the pastes until a uniform color was obtained |

Rolled the paste into strips |

Provided correct post-operative instructions to the patient |

Patient returns for dressing removal |

Use mouth mirror to inspect site |

Use spoon excavator to gently pry dressing away from tissue |

Maintained intraoral fulcrum while using spoon excavator |

Floss between teeth to remove interproximal dressing |

Irrigate site with saline |
