Nova Scotia Community College (2025 edition)

This text, and the related Introduction to Marketing II are adapted remixed versions of Lumen Learning’s Principles of Marketing. The original NSCC edition was first adopted in 2020 and enhanced in 2021 with contributions from NSCC School of Business and Creative Industries faculty and students, supported through grants from AtlanticOER (Council of Atlantic University Libraries) and the NSCC Foundation.

The 2025 edition was created and edited by Deirdre Evans, who led the revision to ensure the content reflects current marketing practices, Canadian contexts, and the needs of today’s learners. Updates include refreshed case studies, contemporary marketing examples, and greater integration of experiential and digital marketing concepts relevant to today’s marketing.

Generative AI tools were used to assist in revising and updating sections of the text. These tools supported the creation of new examples, updated tables, images, and reorganized content to improve clarity and relevance. All AI-generated contributions were carefully reviewed, edited, and validated by the lead faculty author to ensure accuracy, pedagogical alignment, and Canadian relevance.

The original 2021 edition was modified to include Canadian examples, regulatory requirements, and integration into NSCC’s Brightspace Learning Management System, including customized PowerPoints and quizzes.
