acclamation

by an oral vote, often unanimous, expressing approval, rather than by formal ballot.

Chair

The person who presides over a meeting; most often this is the President of the Student Association

Conflict of Commitment

a specific kind of conflict of interest involving divided attention or effort. This can occur when an officer is committed to both the Student Association as well as another organization or activity that could interfere.

Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest arises when your personal/professional interests may conflict with the best interests of the Student Association.

Honorarium

a payment as a thank you gift from the Student's Council, in recognition of volunteer service.

Malfeasance

the performance of an act that is legally unjustified, harmful, or contrary to law, especially by a public official or a person in a position of public trust.

Misfeasance

the wrongful performance of a normally lawful act; the wrongful and injurious exercise of lawful authority.

Nonfeasance

the omission of some act that ought to have been performed.

either part or completely paid for, in accordance with an agreement, by the Student Association to another department to secure a service in return. ie. When the SA pays 50% of a meal cost to allow students a 50% discount.

Waivers

Form to be completed by participants that specifically advises them of any inherent danger associated with the activity they are about to participate in.
