Lab Safety Rules
- There is absolutely no eating or drinking permitted in the lab. If you need to eat or drink during the 75-minute lab period, you must leave the room to do so.
- There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule.
- Water bottles are not permitted in the lab.
- You must wear gloves and goggles while handling brain specimens.
- You must wear goggles when you are in the “splash zone”.
- Your footwear must enclose the entirety of your feet.
- No sandals or other open footwear.
- No open-back or half-backed footwear.
- Lab coats are recommended. During dissections, in particular, be sure the majority of your skin is covered with clothing.
By participating in lab, you agree to comply with all the lab safety rules and any instructions of your instructor.
