Living off campus

Nova Scotia is experiencing a shortage of rental housing, which means that finding long-term accommodation can be challenging and expensive. In a recent NSCC student survey, the majority of students report taking up to 4 months to secure a place to live for the long term.

To get you started, we recommend you use the NSCC Living in Nova Scotia: A Resource Guide for Students . This online resource covers important topics like:

  • Nova Scotia culture and what to expect
  • Signing a rental agreement, lease or contract
  • Being aware of rental scams and
  • How to live with others peacefully
