CBU offers three pathways to earn admission to the Bachelor of Science Nursing degree:

Direct Entry (3 year, 120-credits / 8 semester program, Terms 1 to 8)
Admission Requirements – September intake ONLY
This pathway is for applicants applying directly from high school or those who completed university courses but do not qualify for admission to the Advanced Standing Pathway.
Requirements:
English 12 (academic or advanced)
Math 12
Two Science 12 (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), (Biology and Chemistry recommended)
One additional grade 12 academic or advanced level course
Minimum 70% average in each required course
Advanced Standing (2 year / 90-credits / 6 semester program)
Admission Requirements – September and May intakes
This pathway is for applicants who have completed the below requirements at university level.
Requirements:
30-credits from post-secondary
Within the 30-credits, students must have the following: Physiology, Human Anatomy, English, Microbiology, and Statistics
Additional 15-credits of university level courses
Minimum of 60% average in each of the 10 courses (30-credits) required for admission
Overall average of 65% must be achieved
LPN to RN (2 year / 84-credits / 6 semester program)
Admission Requirements – September and May intakes
This pathway is for applicants with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) designation who have in-career experience.
Requirements:
Completion of a two-year Practical Nurse Program from an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution
Completion of at least 1800 hours of work experience as an LPN within the last two years (A signed letter from an employer is required as proof of hours)
Possession of a valid Nova Scotia LPN license (out of province applicants are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to those residing in Nova Scotia)
Minimum 75% overall average in LPN Diploma program courses
Professional letter of reference from a current employer

Additional Information for International Applicants
International students also need to meet the following requirements:
IELTS or equivalent of 7.0 with no band below 6.5
All international applicants are required to submit an accepted language test (no exemptions for those who have completed two years of post-secondary study in English). See more about English Language Requirements here.
