Designing and creating posters and social media content to help promote Student Association events, activities, programs and services is a part of your role as VP Communications. It is up to your VP Activities and VP Services to provide you all the details that should be included in your posters/content.
What to include
In all content, you should have the Student Association visible. Every time students see this logo, they understand just how far their Student Association fee is stretching.

Including details
Try to minimize text to make your content more visually pleasing, but be sure to add:
- title – what you are advertising
- where – location of the event or of the service/program
- date & time – of the event or available times when students can access programs/services
- fees & tickets – if applicable, ensure to add the details on when and how students can purchase tickets
Content creation tools
Using websites like Canva and Postermywall will help you quickly create posters and content. They offer free services to help generate templates, text and elements such as graphics/videos/pictures and offer a function where you can upload other images to add to your posters.
Formatting
Your content should be saved in PNG or JPG format to be sharable as images across all platforms.
Sizing
Canva offers templates to the current and appropriate sizing for the majority of your content. If you are unsure, refer to the sizing chart below:
